Neil’s most recent role was as CEO of AIM listed Alkane Energy which he joined in 2008. Under his leadership, the Company achieved rapid output increases through a combination of organic growth and acquisition activity. Alkane expanded its UK portfolio of baseload power generating sites and established a leading position in the UK back-up power market covering winter peaking, National Grid “STOR” programme and the capacity market.

Neil started his career at Coopers & Lybrand in 1985, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, before joining Blue Circle in 1988, holding a number of senior financial and operational roles in the UK and Europe. He then spent three years as a Group Management Accountant at Aggregate Industries.

Neil read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oriel College, Oxford University.

Neil joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in September 2016 and is a member of the Audit Committee. Neil is also Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He became Executive Chairman in March 2019.

Fraser joined redT in April 2018 when he also became a member of the Board.

Fraser was previously at the Green Investment Group (formerly the Green Investment Bank) where he was Managing Director of Finance, heading up the Business Finance team. Fraser is an international CFO with extensive board-level experience gained as Group CFO at private equity owned, international onshore wind and solar energy developer, Element Power (2009-2014), and Group FD at FTSE 250 international waste management company, Shanks Group Plc (2005-2009).

Fraser’s industry focus has been on renewable energy, waste and environmental management where he has experience developing and delivering large, capital intensive projects and running significant logistic and treatment operations across multiple sites and countries.

Fraser qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, London after obtaining a First Class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from King’s College, London.

Jeff Kenna has 30 years’ experience managing small and medium sized enterprises in the sustainable energy sector, from incubation to full commercial development. He has been an advisor to the European Commission, the World Bank, the UN and the UK government on energy policy and market growth.

Jeff has been a member of our Board of Directors since February 2006. Jeff is also a member of the Nomination Committee.

Jeff has a PhD in Solar Energy from the University of Wales and a BSc in Applied Physics from the University of Bath.

Jonathan Marren

Jonathan served on the Board of Directors as Chief Financial Officer between July 2012 and March 2016, having been an advisor to the company since early 2006, including on its flotation in April 2006.

He has previously held positions as Deputy Head of Corporate Finance at Singer Capital Markets, prior to which he was at Peel Hunt between 2000 and 2010 where he was a Director in the Corporate Department with responsibility for their new energy and clean tech franchise where he gained considerable experience of working with companies in this area.

Jonathan qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1999 after obtaining a BSc in Mathematics from Durham University.

Jonathan joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in March 2016 and is a member of the Remuneration Committee. Jonathan is also Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Michael Farrow is a founder director of Consortia Partnership Limited, a Jersey licensed trust company. He currently sits on the Boards of a number of listed companies. He has also been group company secretary of Cater Allen Jersey, a banking, trustee and investment management group.

Michael has been a member of our Board of Directors since March 2006 and is a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

Michael holds an MSc in Corporate Governance and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries & Administrators and was formerly a regular British Army Officer.

Scott McGregor joined the company in 2006 and leads the effort to commercialise redT’s industrial-scale, non-degrading, liquid energy storage technology.

Scott has developed over $1bn of energy projects globally with Camco Clean Energy and has extensive experience in the environmental, mining, finance and technology industries, having advised leading corporations in North America, Asia and Europe. Former positions include finance and development roles for Rio Tinto, Merrill Lynch and Skype Technologies.

Scott holds an MBA from the London Business School and a B.Econ from Monash University. He is also a Chartered Accountant and a respected commentator on the subjects of Energy, Technology and Innovation.

Jean-Louis Cols

Jean-Louis is redT’s Technology Director, having joined the Company in January 2018 from the hydrogen and fuel cell industry. As Operations Director at Logan Energy, he was part of the core team that delivered one of the largest micro-grid hydrogen energy storage systems in Europe. Prior to that he was Group Engineering Director at Intelligent Energy, he was responsible for bringing the company’s first fuel cell products to market.

Over a 30 year career Jean-Louis has held senior executive positions within leading technology companies acquiring a multidisciplinary and hands-on technical experience across a wide range of industries.

Jean-Louis holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers in Paris, France and an MBA from HEC Montreal, Canada. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish and has Canadian and French dual citizenship.

Paul Docherty is redT’s Operations Director, having joined the Company in February 2018 from Jabil Circuit Inc. where he was Business Manager for the redT account.

Prior to Jabil, Paul led the operations and held senior management positions, including Managing Director and General Manager roles at various engineering, technology and construction companies including Buro Happold and Motorola.

Paul holds a BEng in Technology and Manufacturing Systems from Strathclyde University and an MBA from the University of West Scotland.

Energy Assets Director

Ed Porter is redT’s Energy Assets Director, having joined the company in December 2018 from Gazprom Marketing & Trading where he held the position of Power Portfolio Manager, responsible for 1GW of UK assets.

Prior to this, Ed held various senior positions within the fields of energy trading and asset optimisation, strategy and business development for Gazprom, RWE npower and Innogy Renewables.

Ed is responsible for developing new grid-scale energy storage projects. He also leads the asset and revenue optimisation team who ensure that we maximise revenue and output of our systems for our customers.

Ed holds a Master of Engineering degree from St Catherine’s College, Oxford University.

Adam Whitehead

Adam Whitehead

Head of Research

Adam Whitehead joined redT energy as Head of Research in 2017, after having worked on electrochemical energy storage system R&D for the last two decades.

Prior to redT, Adam spent almost 6 years at Gildemeister energy storage, where he held the position of Head of Research.

Adam has a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry from Southampton University and a B.A. Honours degree in chemistry from St Anne’s College, Oxford University.
